Job and Trauma

Job and Trauma

Dear Friends,

I hope you have enjoyed the last two weeks’ worth of Devotions written by the Cascades of Grace network.  We turn now to two weeks from Dr Diana Paulding-Sturdy who is one of theologians and a member of our onlline congregation yourchurch.  Diana is an Old Testament specialist and has crafted two weeks’ reflections on the Book of Job and trauma.  She writes:

Throughout this series of devotions, please be aware that the following topics will be discussed:

  • what trauma is
  • common symptoms of trauma
  • things that happen in the Book of Job, including loss of livelihood, death of children, illness, suicidal thoughts, divine abuse.

Some charities and organisations offering support are listed below. There will also be many more that are related to specific issues or experiences.
