Holy Week Worship and Services

Holy Week, culminating in Easter Sunday, is the most important time of year in the Christian Church, as Christ’s death and resurrection are the basis of our faith.

We have services and other worship in the lead-up to Holy Week and through the week itself. Please do try and join us when you can.

Wednesday 25th March, 2.00pm

A time of readings, hymns and reflections led by Mrs. Lucy Cooke.

Sunday 29th March, 11.00am

Revd. Mr. Douglas McFarlane leads our service celebrating the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, where his path was strewn with cloths and palm branches by his followers.

Sunday 29th March, 3.30pm-5.30pm.

Fun and activities, plus a party tea, for children and young people (of all ages!). See the Messy Church tab on the Worship page for more information.

Thursday 2nd April, 7.30pm.

Seated round tables in the shape of a cross and lit only by candles that are gradually extinguished as the service proceeds, the Tenebrae service, led by Revd. Mr. Douglas McFarlane, commemorates the events of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of Holy Week, including the sharing of bread and wine.

Friday 3rd April, 10.30am.

Led by Mrs. Lucy Cooke, this service gives the opportunity to reflect on the events leading up to the death of Jesus on the cross.

Sunday 5th April, 11.00am.

Led by Revd. Mr. John Durrell, this Holy Communion on this the most important day of the Christian year, is open to all who want to share in celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord and saviour.
