The underlying theme of Holocaust Memorial Day is to remind ourselves of the discrimination and hatred that can be inflicted upon others. We need to reflect on whether we have learnt any lessons.
Do we still treat others as different, as inferior, as without the value that we think we have for ourselves?
Do we dehumanise others?
Do we allow others to be dehumanised while standing by?
