This Week’s Pandemic Prayer

Pandemic Prayer and Looking Ahead

Dear <<First Name>>

There are two things I’d like to bring to your attention.  First, this week’s Pandemic Prayer has been written by the Rev’d Neil Thorogood and is now live on the URC website here.

Secondly those of you who follow the weekly worship we provide on Sunday mornings will be pleased to know that I have now received, had recorded, sourced hymns, and collated the May worship material.  Dan Morrell then stitches them together and sends out to local church contacts ahead of time.  I will be leading worship on the 2nd May looking at the story in Acts of Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch.  The Rev’d Tony Addy, a URC minister who lives and works in Austria, leads worship on the 9th looking at the idea of conviviality.  Our Ascension service on 16th May is led by the Rev’d Dr Michael Jagassar; Michael is now the European Secretary for the Council for World Mission.  Our Pentecost service, on 23rd, is led by the Rev’d Jan Adamson who is now a retired minister in the Synod of Scotland.  Our Trinity Sunday service is led by the Rev’d Nicola Furley Smith, our Secretary for Ministries.

We realise that as churches reopen we still have people who are housebound, folk who live away from a local URC, people who value the services as a supplement – often listening on a Sunday evening – and churches who increasingly use the material for pulpit supply.  The services will, therefore, continue at least until the end of the year.

with every good wish

Andy
