Worship Notes and Weekly Intercessions
Dear Friends,
Next Sunday’s Worship Notes are written by the Rev’d Jayne Taylor. Jayne works with St John 20:19-31 (the story of Thomas’ encounter with the Risen Lord). We suggest the same Call to Worship and Affirmation of Faith as for Easter Sunday to remind folk that Easter is not just one Sunday of the year but a whole season. As ever all the prayers you might need and hymn suggestions are listed.
Some people ask for these notes to be sent out earlier….they are loaded up at around two months in advance on the URC webpage. Just google “URC Worship Notes” as that’s probably the easiest way to find them. You will see that all the notes for April and May are posted. June ones will go up soon.
I have written the intercessions this week weaving in ideas of the Risen Lord, new life in nature around us, 75 years of the NHS and the doctors’ strike, political turmoil, investigations in the CBI, a just and equal sharing of resources (Guardian readers will be following the series of articles about the amazing untaxed wealth of the Royal Family), recent innovations in vaccine technology which might mean we soon have vaccines against both cancer and heart disease along with prayers for the Church. Please feel free to use as much, or as little, as you find helpful for your own contexts. You can download the prayers here.
with every good wish
Andy
