Worship Notes and Weekly Intercessions for Sunday 7th May

Resources for next Sunday

Dear Friends,

I have prepared the Worship Notes for Sunday’s service based on the Acts passage detailing the martyrdom of Stephen.  I  consider how the word “martyr” means to “bear witness” and ponder the good and bad ways in which Stephen bore witness.  I hope that encourages us in our own discipleship as we discern how best to bear witness in our own age.   You can access the Worship Notes here – for those who plan ahead all of May’s are up as are June’s and most of July’s should be available by the end of the week.

This service was prepared some time ago and I’m grateful to the Rev’d Camilla Veitch who has prepared intercessions for this coming Sunday.  You can download them here.

Finally, churches may wish have a prayer said for the King and Queen on Sunday.  Camilla has a prayer in her intercessions.  The URC offers this prayer for Sunday worship and for those, who wish, to use during the week.

Eternal God,
You order and govern our world and all that is therein,
bless, we pray, Charles and Camilla
that they may feel your loving presence,
and fulfil faithfully the roles prescribed for them,
and that we may, in this kingdom, be better governed,
and always reminded of your eternal Kingdom
which is to come. Amen.

with every good wish

Andy
